  • St. Mary's Coffee buying club: Honoring the Millennium Development Goals (the MDG's) through our commitment to stewardship of the earth and social justice, St Mary's has created a coffee buying club through Higher Ground coffee in Traverse City, which sells and supports fair trade and environmentally friendly coffee. GLOBAL:

Financial support of Friends of Lesotho (Africa)  for their work addressing HIV/AIDS in that country. Friends of Lesotho is a non-profit organization comprised mainly of former Peace Corps Volunteers. The group works to promote friendship between the peoples of Lesotho and North America, and to continue to be of service to the people of Lesotho. Currently, Friends of Lesotho is supporting two HIV/AIDS projects. They are the Lesotho Health Partnership and Touching Tiny Lives. The Lesotho Health Partnership trains local people how to care for AIDS patients and how to teach others about AIDS prevention. Touching Tiny Lives (also known as Six Degrees of Love) is an effort by former Peace Corps Volunteers Tara Lloyd and Kenneth Storen to maintain a shelter for HIV/AIDS orphans. Both projects are in the village of Mokhotlong.
